Journey Into Mystery #83 - Atop the Fourth Wall

Welcome to Atop the Fourth Wall, where bad comics burn. In this episode, Linkara looks at the origin story of Thor! http://atopthefourthwall.com Originally uploaded November 25th, 2013. ORIGINAL INFO: Whosoever watches this review, if they be worthy… will see a comic about a Norse God battling aliens. RUMINATIONS: Since I have nothing really to share about the comic overall, let me instead share a thing that sometimes needs to be reminded of fans: the most annoying question anyone in a semi-celebrity position can get asked is “What is your opinion on _______?” And it’s not so annoying that we really want people to stop asking it, because often we DO want to share our opinions about something and being asked it is a convenient way of doing so. The problem is when they ask for opinions about things that are not out yet. I get asked my opinions about upcoming movies, TV shows, comics… I get people want a preliminary opinion to help get them thinking about their own thoughts about it, but 9 times out of 10, we’re just as much in the dark about this stuff and we feel that giving our opinion about something that isn’t out yet is utterly pointless. It’s a waste of time, because it’s giving a completely uninformed opinion. And sure, we’re guilty of that sometimes, but it’s usually at least in relation to something else we ARE informed about and talking about, so then it’s just a minor tangent, but showing me a poster and saying, “What do you think of this movie?” is useless. Thankfully, more people are being better about this, asking me opinions about trailers or the like, which I think is tied into this bizarre thing on youtube where people post reaction videos to trailers, which utterly baffle me as to why they exist, but whatever floats your boat. I know the appeal of being with a friend and seeing their reaction to something that you know about but they don’t for the first time, so I guess it’s something like that. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Enjoy Thor destroying a robot.
