Vietnam Travel Series - Ep 07 Hi, this is Archana and Prasanth , a travel loving couple from Kerala, India. We are currently exploring Southeast Asia on a budget backpacking trip. Phong Nha in central Vietnam is home to numerous caves including World's largest cave Hang son doong. Phong Nha was one of the most heavily bombed regions during the Vietnam war. During the war, the Phong Nha area was one of the North's major staging areas for northern soldiers and supplies transiting to the front in the south. Soldiers would come from all over northern Vietnam and supplies would come from Hai Phong via a network of north-south roads in North Vietnam. Not long ago the sleepy village of Phong Nha barely got a mention in guidebooks, but the surprise discovery of world's largest cave has catapulted it into the adventure tourism spotlight. The Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park is a rugged swathe of limestone mountains riddled with gigantic caves. It's also home to endangered wildlife and ethnic minority groups. Today, we are visiting Asia's longest Dry cave - Thien duong cave, which is also known as Paradise cave. Paradise also has another record for the most magnificent system of stalactites and stalagmites in Asia. The 31 KM long limestone cave was discovered in 2005, and since then, it has been a major tourist attraction of Vietnam. The first one KM of the cave has a wooden bridge that is open to the general public, and if you are feeling a bit adventurous there are some expeditions which can take you to the interior parts of the cave . We highly recommend that Phong Nha and Paradise Cave should be on your list if you are visiting Vietnam. How to reach Paradise cave- 🛵 Paradise cave is located 25km away from Phong Nha town. You will have to rent a scooter or taxi from Phong Nha town to reach the cave. 🤑 Ticket price per person is 265000 VND (around 900 INR) which also includes 1 KM electric buggy ride from ticket counter to cave entrance 🕰 The cave is open from 7AM to 4 PM For Son doong cave expedition details: https://oxalisadventure.com/tour/son-...
