This DIY is SO easy and creates endless hours of fun! I am always amazed at how something so simple, as beans or rice or noodles, can capture and keep the attention of children for so long. My 3 year old has some great focus and attention when she plays with her sensory bins. And then she takes them to her child care center and shares with her friends and they play with them for months. It really is endless, easy fun! Not to mention, children learn through play and their senses, so sensory play promotes fine motor development, social-emotional development, attention/focus, self-regulation skills, creativity, curiosity and brain development, just to name a few! :) Watch the end of the video for some ideas of how to set up sensory bins as an invitation to play for your little ones - such as setting it up to sort, color match, scoop, dump, dig, hide/seek, and string. The recipe I use (there are MANY different recipes out there): 1 tbsp of alcohol, 1/2- 1 tube of gel food coloring dye, and 1 box of pasta or 3 cups of rice/beans. You can adjust as you'd like for intensity of color. Here is my blog about dying rice in the past: http://www.earlychildhoodtherapist.co... Let's Connect!
