In an attempt to reconcile the many inconsistencies with the Bird of Prey type, both in size and power, I have created 3 versions of the Bird of Prey: 1. The Bird of Prey, smallest of the 3 and most commonly seen. Around 110m this is basically a scout/attack ship. Good weapons for its size and fast but no match for a Federation starship. Weaker than a Miranda class but somewhat more powerful than a Dominion Attack Ship 2. B'Rel. About 230m. The smaller of the large BoP types, carries the same disruptors as the scout BoP but has better shields and hull and an Aft torpedo tube. This BoP stands in for whenever we see a BoP display ridiculous capabilities for a tiny scout ship, and whenever there is a discrepancy in scale. More powerful than a Miranda and many frigates but overpowered by destroyers and no match for a cruiser 3. K'Vort. 330m, the largest and most powerful of the 3. Armed with a pair of very powerful disruptors and some average powered short range beams to help defend against smaller targets, plus an aft torpedo tube. Defences quite weak for its size but adequate. About equal to a TNG era Excelsior but outmatched by a DS9 Excelsior. 3 will overpower a Galaxy.
