In this simple project we made a zipper utility pouch from some scrap leather. These zipper utility pouches are a great use of larger pieces of scrap leather - maybe they have marks on them, or brands, or a big section of pock marks. You can make these zippered leather utility pouches for your shop out of those big pieces of leather and still get a lot of good use out of it! For these zipper utility pouches we use about 4-5oz leather. We hand stitch the zipper into the leather pouch, and then also hand stitch the pouch shut with a saddle stitch and poly threads. In this leather pouch design we like to include a grommet which can be used to hang the pouches on hooks or you can make a lanyard or wristlet to make the pouch into a clutch or small purse! The smaller size included in the pattern, when made out of clean leather, makes for a great zippered wallet as well!
