#2024KoreaTravel Travel Vlog. Trip to Korea in April 2024. On our 2nd day in Seoul, we woke up early and decided to walk to Onion Cafe which was only 5 mins away for breakfast. Really thankful for our Airbnb location which was right smack amongst all the popular cafes. We just walked in and there was no queue yet so we managed to get a nice seat outside and got our breads and had a leisurely breakfast. Our next appointment was to wear hanbok as it was my friend's first trip to Korea. I booked a studio which specialized in authentic, traditional hanbok. It costs more than the usual hanbok rental place but I thought it would be more special to experience a proper fitting rather than the usual "made-for-tourists" hanbok. My husband always commented that the hanbok wore by tourists were "fake" and not real hanbok. 😅 I've wore hanbok in the past before too when I visited Korea but didn't know any better so this time we booked a "real" hanbok rental. It's the whole suite from inner wear all the way to the socks and shoes and accessories. It cost us 45,000krw to rent the hanbok for 4 hours. And we did wear it for almost 4 hours as going around the places took time. We went to Gyeongbukgong but it was very crowded so we went back to Bukchon where our Airbnb was situated. There were many other hanoks and nice corners for taking pictures. We also made used of our Airbnb and went back to take picture there at our leisure. When we were returning our hanbok, we chanced upon the Punkyung Yul store which was right beside the rental studio. It had such a pretty garden so we entered it and the friendly staff invited us into the store to take pics. We had a nice experience (but my friend's feet hurt from wearing the traditional shoes). Rental studio IG: @studiokjd_official After that we went to have lunch at one of my favorite places in Seoul. It's cheap and good food. Grilled beef slices. Each set meal came with an array of banchan (side dishes) and it cost 8,000 krw per person. We added extra portion of beef for 6000 krw. It was a very satisfying meal. Not Instagram pretty but a good local eats. Hwangsoogojib: 75-2 Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul We went to for a short walk around Cheonggyecheon stream which was right outside, went to Insadong, Samzilgil and then Ik-seong dong and finally had dinner at Myeongdong Gyoza which was one of my go-to places in Seoul. Next day, we had a leisurely breakfast at our Airbnb as breakfast was provided by the host too. Then we went to Express Bus Terminal to shop. And we also went to COEX to see the famous Starfield Library. As we were quite tired at this point and it was raining throughout the whole day, we went back to Myeongdong as we spotted a new cat cafe the day before. It turned out to be a really good choice as it was a brand new cat cafe just opened in April 2024. It costs us about 12,000krw to enter and get a drink. When we asked for the duration, the staff told us we could stay as long as we wanted. I guessed it's because there's not many other customers around. We had a good time resting and chilling with the cute cats. Cat Cafe: Cat's Sarangchae, 19-3 Myeongdong 10-gil, 3 3F, Jung-gu, Seoul Dinner was at a random Raymeon shop outside Myeong-dong because all the bonjuk porridge stores we went to were closed. The staff in shirt and tie cooked the ramyeon for you after paying for the ramen. You could also add your own toppings and an egg.
