Our Journey to Explore the Legendary Ghost ship of Petersburg. We had heard a great deal about the Ghost Ship of Cincinnati, so we loaded up the kayaks and headed to Lawrenceburg, IN where we put in on Tanner Creek and paddled down the channel to the Ohio River. We crossed the Ohio and began paddling up river about a mile and a half (not as bad as it sounds it was actually a relatively easy paddle once we got across the Ohio River), and then left the Ohio and to paddle up Taylor Creek only about 100 yards or so to the old abandoned wreckage. As we paddled through the narrow mouth of the creek it began to open up revealing the once magnificent vessel that had long been forgotten. It was certainly a sight to behold. The small creek has been home to the old abandoned ship for the past 30+ years. The vessel is an 186 foot former yacht first launched in 1902 and belonged to a railroad mogul. We spent the night in hammocks on the bank of Taylor Creek. A map is included in the video with GPS coordinates. The Circle Line V has quite a rich history. She started out as a private yacht, used by the Navy she was fitted with charges during World War I to destroy German U boats and she was equipped with machine guns to destroy torpedoes , and carried sightseers around the New York Harbor. Thomas Edison sailed the USS Sachem to Florida Key West and the Caribbean. She was even used in one of Madonna's music videos Papa don't preach. The opportunity to personally explore this old Legendary, forgotten relic was definitely worth the journey...    • Madonna - Papa Don't Preach (Official...   Now she is a forgotten piece of American history sitting in a small creek in Petersburg, Kentucky called Taylor Creek in Boone County.
