Yoga for Dizziness and Vertigo - Yoga with Rachel

Yoga for Dizziness and Vertigo is intended to help alleviate the effects of dizziness, vertigo, or other balance/vestibular disorders. Over a year ago, I was in a car accident. I was rear-ended at a red light. I experienced whiplash. A month following my accident, I started to experience bouts of dizziness and vertigo. I had days where I would literally have to crawl across the floor because the whole room was spinning. It was terrifying! In spite of how I was feeling, I had a strong desire to maintain my at-home yoga practice. Therefore, I decided to learn some safe ways to move on my mat. I explored movements that reduced my symptoms. I was able to get on my mat at least twice a week even though I was feeling off. For this practice, I share some of the movements and stretches that I explored when my symptoms were present. We stay low to the ground. The movements will be slow and gentle. I provide options throughout this flow. I offer suggestions for props that you can use to support you as you move. NOTE: If something does not feel right, back out of the posture. Listen to your body! You know yourself the best. I hope that this flow provides you with some level of relief from your symptoms. Also, know that you are not alone!
