The Macallan Classic Cut...which is the better? 2018, 2019, 2020? Macallan released this fourth offering in the Classic Cut limited series in 2020. The 2020 Classic Cut is a higher-strength Speyside Scotch Whiskey weighing in at 55% ABV / 110 Proof. The 2020 Classic Cut was barreled in a combination of sherry seasoned European oak casks and ex-bourbon American oak casks to create a single malt with a unique flavor and character.
