In this video, join me on my visit to the Grand Palace, one of the palaces of the Thai Royal family. The nearest MRT station is Sanam Chai. I took MRT Blue Line from Sukhumvit MRT Station to Sanam Chai MRT Station. The entrance fee for adult foreigners is 500 Baht. The amazing palace dates back to 1782. The Grand Palace is divided into two main zones, the Temple of Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Keaw) and the Royal Residence. However, the palace is currently used for ceremonial purposes. It is a former private residence of the Thai Royal family. Here, there is Wat Phra Keaw, also known as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The temple was constructed in 1784, and is located within the Grand Palace Complex. The royal temple is regarded as the most important Buddhist temple in Thailand. Important religious ceremonies are performed at this temple. The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, also located within the ground of the Grand Palace. Admission to the museum is included in the visitor’s entry fee to the Grand Palace. The museum is home to the Royal Wardrobe of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit Exhibition.
