The origins of the European people (The Pelasgians) from ancient Greece, India, Egypt, and Britain are explained in this movie. Classical Greek writers used the term "Pelasgians" to refer to either the forebears or predecessors of the Greeks or to all people living in Greece prior to the appearance or arrival of Greeks who were aware of their Greekness. Enclaves with that name continued to exist throughout the classical era in various parts of mainland Greece, Crete, and other Aegean regions. Although some ancient writers classified the Pelasgian populations as Greek, they spoke a language or languages that Greeks at the time considered to be "barbaric." There is a persistent myth that a significant portion of ancient Greece was Pelagian before it was Hellenized. These regions were predominantly, though not entirely, a part of the area that, by the fifth century BC, was populated by the ancient Greek speakers known as Ionians and Aeolians.
