How much coral is 'lots'? We survey coral cover on an inshore reef on the Great Barrier Reef.

We have often dived on Middle Reef, just off Hydeaway Bay where we live and always describe it as having 'lots' of living coral. But what does that mean? In this video we set out to answer that question by doing quantitative coral surveys on this amazingly rich inshore coral reef. Come along and check out how it is done. There's been quite a delay since my last video. This has been caused by an attack of shingles, a reactivation of the chicken pox virus that can happen in later life. I was vaguely aware that this could happen but never realised how debilitating and painful this disease is! It also turned my brain to mush which slowed life down a lot! Anyway here I am back again....
