Carnatic music recital by Temple of Music ensemble @ Diwali Festival in Seattle, WA, USA

The Temple of Music youth violin ensemble performs traditional Carnatic music from South India during the 'Diwali: Lights of India Festival' at Seattle Center Armory in Seattle, WA, USA on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024. The festival was part of the Seattle Center Festál series and was jointly organized with Northwest Share, a nonprofit organization based in Seattle. Temple of Music is a non-profit trust started by India-born and Seattle-based violin maestro Ganesh Rajagopalan to spread the power of Indian classical music to the world. Ganesh Rajagopalan won a Grammy for Best Global Music Album as part of Indian fusion band Shakti's album 'This Moment' at the 66th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, CA earlier this year. Shakti's founder Rajagopalan, guitarist John McLaughlin, tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, singer Shankar Mahadevan and percussionist Selvaganesh Vinayakram won the award at the ceremony. Seattle Center Festál is a year-round series of 24 free cultural festivals, produced in partnership with various community organizations.
