Diagnosing Crank / Cam Sensor fault with a cheap Oscilloscope £20!

So cheap I had to buy it! A handheld oscilloscope for about £20, a must have for electrical diagnosis. Very useful for diagnosing my intermittent crank sensor fault ( P0335 OBD2 DTC code, also for P0341 cam DTC error). I had changed the sensor and it was failing worse than before - it was a faulty new sensor but I needed confirmation. This gadget was just what I needed. After confirming the sensor was faulty I bought a decent Delphi one and now all is fixed. There are many manufacturers of these sensors, I would recommend a Delphi one, having had two failures of another make. This particular job was fixing an intermittent failure of a crank sensor on a 21 year old (2003yr) Freelander 2.5 V6. With this oscilloscope I could capture the moment that the sensor failed and see it’s incorrect or absence of output, shown in the video at 8m:40s. Seeing this definitely pointed toward the crank sensor, despite it being a new one.
