NASA Finds Multiple Black Holes in a Nearby Cluster

NGC 6397 is a large Globular cluster located about 7,800 light-years from Earth. Globular cluster is basically a collection of stars that orbits around a dense Galactic core. NGC 6397 contains roughly 400,000 stars and is expected to be as old as the Universe. It was believed that clusters host a Black hole many million times the mass of our Sun whose gravity keeps all the stars together. But when Astronomers studied the NGC 6397 they found a large number of smaller black holes with mass less than 100 times that of the Sun.
