HyperComplex Seminar, 16th Sept, 2024 Abstract. The recent rapid growth in high-performance computing applications, such as AI and cryptocurrency, has signicantly increased the demand for more energy-ecient computing technologies, which CMOS technology can no longer meet as it nears the end of Moore's law. Superconducting computing based on Boolean logic is considered one of the most promising candidates for post-CMOS computing in terms of both performance and energy eciency. A key feature of superconducting computing is the availability of two distinct logic styles: high-speed single-ux-quantum (SFQ) logic and energy-ecient adiabatic logic. After reviewing the current state of research in superconducting computing, this talk will present our group's ongoing research on energy-ecient superconducting computing based on adiabatic quantum ux parametron (AQFP) [1-2]. It will also introduce new circuit technologies, including EDA tools [3], a reversible QFP [4], three-dimensional integration [5], and hybridization with CMOS memories [6]. Additionally, other applications of AQFP, such as readout circuits for superconducting sensor arrays and control and readout circuits for quantum bits, will also be introduced.
