As we have studied in the previous lecture, pulpitis in simple words is the inflammation of the pulp. Pulpitis is a process that occurs within the pulp when there is an external stimuli, like bacterial attack or mechanical trauma to the the pulp. There are two types of pulpitis. Reversible pulpitis and Irreversible pulpitis. Hyperplastic Pulpitis is not a new class of pulpitis, in fact it is a type of irreversible pulpitis. Therefore, causes, signs and symptoms and even the treatment of pulp polyp are similar to irreversible pulpitis. pulpitis. Hyperplastic pulpitis or the pulp polyp do has a special clinical appearance and that is how you diagnose the pulp polyp and differentiate it from irreversible pulpitis. What is the Treatment of Pulp Polyp? The treatment of a tooth with Hyperplastic pulpitis involves either performing root canal treatment on the tooth or extracting the tooth.
