...or How not to plan a route and get completely lost. I'm sorry guys, but you have to have the bad with the good. This is the warts and all adventures of a man with a Garmin 67i. At the end of the day, I have no regrets, it just ends up being a place I need to revisit, especially when the weather is better. The problem was being a little too eager to find a place in the car park, so I beavered to the destination really early in the morning. I sailed past the car park I planned for and parked a quarter of a mile further on the road. Bizarrely my walking route took me through the car park I had parked in. So fun ensued. There's nothing more character building than walking five miles and finding yourself back at the start having seen nothing! Laugh as loudly as you like. I saw nothing, but mist and mud. On the upside, I did get to sit and make tea at Stanage Pole and sit on a bench for an hour and pondered life over a Peri Peri Chicken dinner, so glad I carried the cooker. Thank you again Paul Besley, this walk No 7, Wyming Brook to Stanage Edge in his book, Dark Peak Walks. 00:00 The Route 04:01 Confused.com 04:41 Garmin Screen of the Start 05:14 Still consulting the 67i 06:22 Deja Vu! 06:46 The explanation 08:03 Stanage Pole 09:51 Stanage Edge and the Mist 11:32 Millstone Graveyard 13:40 Lunch on Lindas Bench 16:52 Lest we forget!
