This setting, which OCP refers to as a "contemporary crossover", was selected by many parishes after the revision of the Roman Missal in 2010. While some wanted to use revised settings, some opted for something brand new like Stephan's Renewal. Renewal is used in many contemporary parishes, but this setting is not just a contemporary one; it is also a "crossover," gaining traction in many "mainstream" parishes. In some cases, music ministers have adapted this setting it from piano and guitar to organ. Many music ministers enjoy using this setting because of its simple melodies and consistent motifs, which they claim gets the congregation singing loudly and proudly. Stephan expertly combines modern and mainstream liturgical aspects to create a simplistic contemporary crossover.
