This video explains how to draw cam profile . The problem statement is as follows: A cam with a minimum radius of 50 mm , rotating clockwise with a uniform speed is required to give follower the following motion: To move outwards through 40 mm during 100° rotation of the cam To dwell for next 80° To return to its starting position during next 90° To dwell for the rest period of cam rotation Draw the cam profile when the line of stroke of the follower passes through the centre of the cam shaft. Outstroke & return stroke takes place with uniform acceleration & retardation.
