In the British Isles, the Celtic people shared a similar idea that went by dozens of different names, such as Tir na nOg, Avalon, Mag Mell, Annwn, and more, but together they are collectively known as the Otherworld. Shrouded in mist, sometimes it is seen as a subterranean world or as an island across the sea, where time flows differently, the sun always shines, and its inhabitants want for nothing. The Celtic Otherworld is an enigmatic and magical world appearing in various mythologies of the Celtic lands, from the branches of the Mabinogion, to the tales of the Fenian Cycle, to Arthurian Legend.
