C208 CARAVAN Circling approach at CYYR Goose Bay, Canada.

This video shows a circling approach, in essence an instrument approach to one runway to get the airport in sight and then “circling” - kind of a traffic pattern -to the opposite runway or to another runway at this airport. The reasons can be different: sometimes there is no approach available for the landing runway or the minimums for the straight in approach to the runway are not adequate for the weather conditions. In my case it was different: I started the approach to runway 08 with a slight tailwind (to save times and track miles flown), during the final phases of the approach, the wind exceeded the limits. So I requested a circling approach to the opposite runway. Safety is ALWAYS first. Phraseology: instead of saying “right” or “left” you refer to the direction pf the circling, in this case “circle North to runway 26”. Your comments and questions are always welcome.
