DX9 D-05 Chigurh Transformation Sequence

Figure Note: Stop-Motion Transformation of DX9 D-05 Chigurh. This figure was loaned to me by fakter1. See more of this collection: follow @teletraan1ne on Instagram. Decent triple-changer. The shuttle is a bit fat and the robot skipped leg day, but it hits all the modes well enough. I had heard this figure was a huge pain, but it’s really not so bad. First time doing all transitions for a triple-changer. What do you think? Support Note: If you like my work send me a tip via Paypal (paypal.me/peolesdru). Train to Shuttle: 0:09 Shuttle to Robot: 1:04 Robot to Train: 2:05 Speed runs: from/to Train Shuttle Robot Train n/a 3:10 4:15 Shuttle 4:58 n/a 3:32 Robot 3:54 4:36 n/a 2X Run: 5:20 End credits: 6:25 Production Note: This is the first time I have done every possible transition for a triple-changer: six to be exact. The instructions for Chigurh triggered my inspiration for how to economically do all the transitions with minimal photographic work. See if you can tell how I did it. Hint: I only shot three sequences. I’ll be doing DX9’s Hanzo soon - it will have 30 (!!!) distinct transitions that will run as a continuous sequence in the speed run just like this one did. I think this is my longest video so far, yet I only had to shoot about 980 frames. Fun fact: Because I’m a dumb shit who doesn’t save as I go along, I got to edit nearly the entire sequence twice when Premiere Pro froze on me. (Ironically, this was when it went to do its own auto-save.) Viewing Note: If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using the Chrome plugin called "Frame by Frame for YouTube". It turns your , and . keyboard keys into single-frame movement keys. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking. Music: The music is by Ethan Meixsell - www.ethanmeixsell.com Songs: “Pride Before the Fall”, “Start Your Engines”, and “Run”
