A B1 Blast - Mayflower on the English Riviera Express

It was a good day following the regular Saphos Train's "The English Riviera Express", this one was from Wolverhampton. The weather was as predicted improving in the afternoon so the locations reflected this. We start with the climb up to Whiteball summit. The plan to film again near Newton Abbot, but holiday traffic on the M5 did not permit the effort. This was the first time filming out of Kingswear and the challenge of having a public footpath alongside the line and groups of people walking back from the upper ferry. But all went well and the sun came out at the right time. The service train that day was GWR 2-8-0T 5239 which was facing north and provided a contrast to the B1. There was time to film the tour again on the northbound climb to Whiteball by the canal at Burlescombe. Again lucky with the sun in a largely cloudy sky.
