Climbing the Gros Piton, St. Lucia

We climbed the 2619 foot Gros Piton in St. Lucia on August 16, 2011. We arranged our climb with Spencer Ambrose Tours. Beginning in the little village of Fond Gens Libre, we climbed 2000 feet up over steep rocks and boulders. If that wasn't challenging enough we also had to deal with the Caribbean heat and humidity which caused us to sweat like we have never sweat before! We completed this climb in 4 hours. This was definitely one of the most strenuous and tiring climbs that we have ever done but the sense of accomplishment and the view from the peak was worth it!
