I would like to raise a follow-up question from the press and then perhaps add a comment and then have Maharishi respond to the question. The follow-up question is: How can a Vedic engineer create anything from an empty box? What is the methodology? What are the mechanics? 2. In physics, the theory of attention states that wherever the attention goes, it does something to the object. 3. Vedic technology takes the attention to the unmanifest field. The unmanifest has the total knowledge of creation, just as the seed has the ability to raise the whole tree. 4. In Transcendental Meditation, the mind goes to that field of nothingness, and then the mind is lively in the value of smriti, memory. 5. The value of memory means, "as it was before." Any seed will give rise to the same tree which was before. 6. The physical universe is is the expression of the nonphysical field of consciousness. It's the same thing: the emptiness of the sky, of the universe, expresses itself in the ever-expanding values of different galaxies, suns, moons. 7. Human mind is totally competent to enliven within its nature the total nature of the unmanifest. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is widely regarded as one of the foremost scientists in the field of consciousness.
