Devising A Concoction To Fertilize Indoor Carnivorous Plants

How to fertilize carnivorous plants that are growing indoors you might wonder? I was thinking the same thing as my sundews in a terrarium were not being well fed. I read online about feeding them by mixing fish flake food, betta bits, or dried blood worms with distilled water. This is my first attempt at doing so but since they are small plants, I wanted to make sure I had an easy method for delivering the concoction to the plants without spilling it onto the media. Since people mix fish food, or Maxsea fertlizer with distilled water in a low concentration and get good results I figured I might as well do the same. I have a ton of fish flake food from when I had my aquarium set up so that is what I decided to try first. A little later, one can see that the sundew leaves have curled up over the water droplets, or the "hairs" have curled in and around the water droplets-depending on the species of Drosera one might have. Several varieties of sundews look very similar such as Drosera capillaris, Drosera spatulata, and Drosera tokaiensis and I'm not exactly sure which ones are in my collection but hopefully can make a better assessment once they flower. As a side note, Drosera tokaiensis is considered its own species and not a hybrid as Wikipedia claims. Of course, if they can cross pollinate are they really different species since the generally accepted definition of a species is a reproductive barrier? I guess that is why so many different types of plants keep getting reclassified. I hope you enjoyed this video and found it informative and useful. Thanks for watching and Happy Planting.
