The Beach Boys- Good Vibrations ('Extrasensory Perfection')

This is a slideshow video set to my own extended stereo mix of The Beach Boys' masterpiece 'Good Vibrations'. The song was planned for inclusion on the legendarily unfinished and unreleased 1967 'Smile' album. In 2010, the record was listed at No. 6 in Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time. Written by Brian Wilson with lyrics by Mike Love, the record features Carl Wilson on lead vocals and is often cited for it's seminal use of the studio in it's innovative production techniques. It has been written that, incredibly, over 90 hours of music were recorded during the making of the 3:30 minute single. This version of Good Vibrations uses some earlier-recorded session sections that were not included in the 1966 single release. These have been inserted to try to create a unique and immersive listening experience. I invite you to put the headphones on and travel back to the sights and sounds of the 1960s and feel the good vibrations. Attempts were made to present this in a stereo environment although the tapes that would allow for a true stereo mix of Good Vibrations have tragically been lost. Thanks to all the fan-mixers whose efforts are represented here.
