I start with a visit to the recently upgraded SAS Gold Lounge at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport. The lounge is quite big, with a whole new dining area, all-day barista, relaxation rooms, meeting rooms, phone booths, guest offices, and even a light room! After snacking a bit at the Lounge, I went through passport control (YES, the lounge is BEFORE passport control, so if you have a tight connection make sure to check how many people are queuing for passport control, otherwise you might lose your flight! The assigned gate was C37 and SAS was hosting a welcome reception and event at 14:00 at the gate. SAS sent an SMS message to all passengers the day before with the invitation to this event, so I wanted to cover it! There was food, drinks (refreshments and beer), and SAS and CPH executives gave a speech regarding the Boarding was smooth. Occupancy was about 50%, so it was relatively quick. After takeoff the service was EXCELLENT. Welcome bags were waiting for us already at the seat. The crew was very friendly and kind. Seats were comfortable, with nice footrest and recline, big entertainment screen, and power outlets. The food was amazing (some people might consider it bland, but it was very well prepared!). Wifi onboard was on-trials so it took a while until the crew is available.
