The back of the sleeve reads: "This album of recordings containing five (5) songs each by the late HENRY 'TOOLOOM' DINDIAL and RAMCHARITAR will definitely be of immence value to all lovers of Indian songs and music. These selections are some of the best rendered by these two (2) artistes recorded many years ago. It is a fitting contribution to the producers of this LP record to pay tribute to these two great artistes who have passed away to the great beyond - HENRY 'TOOLOOM' DINDIAL and RAMCHARITAR. 'Tooloom' as Dindial was more familiarly called, hailed from South Trinidad . He created a distinguished orthodox style of classical Singing with a modern rhythmic beat and syncopation that appealed greatly to the younger generation. Apart from this, he was an accomplished Harmonium player and his versatility on this instrument was highly applauded wherever he appeared. Among the elections on this LP are two (2) songs which will live forever in the memories of all those who heard 'TOOLOOM' in his hey days. "Bramha Ke Bardana" and the famous Ghazal "Maarr Gayah Ham". It is hoped that this album will bring back feelings of nostalgia of this great artiste and pay a fitting tribute to his contribution he has made to Indian Culture in Trinidad and Tobago. With respect to RAMCHARITAR, he hailed from the predominantly East Indian Agricultural district of Aranjuez. Whilst 'Tooloom' was blazing a trail in the South simultaneously Ramcharitar was reigning CHAMPION in the North. 'Tooloom's' Rhythmic singing was matched by RAMCHARITAR's highly classical tunes. RAMCHARITAR was influenced in his early days by the proximity of two (2) veterans who lived in San Juan, namely, Benny Seenath and Ali Jan. The Ghazals and Bhajans of RAMCHARITAR had special appeal but two (2) of his tunes became internationally famous, they are "Sakee Sakee Pyara" & "Mano Mano". When the Radio Programme "Indian Talent On Parade" was first inaugurated in 1947 by Kamaluddin Mohammed, Ramcharitar was the first local male singer who appeared in this programme. I have no doubt in my mind that not only will this RECORD ALBUM be a source of great entertainment to all LOVERS of indian music but it is a glowing tribute to the two artistes who have passed away and a genuine recognition of the work being done by others. he producers of this LP record must be warmly congratulated in their efforts in deciding to chronicle for posterity the voices and music of these great artistes, whose style and inimitable manner of singing is slowly dying out in our cosmopolitan countries. If this LP album can serve to be an inspiration to the younger generation to emulate this rich art form, then the efforts of the producers would have been adequately compensated."
