In this 3D animation, IKM Testing clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of our bespoke, highly optimised methodology for the safe and efficient topside sectioning and removal of conductors. IKM Testing’s vast experience in the realm of decommissioning coupled with our relentless focus on continuous innovation has allowed our clients to complete these challenging operations 50% faster than using traditional methods. To achieve these unprecedented results, IKM Testing designed and built several key pieces of equipment specifically for the purpose of optimising topside sectioning operations. First, a dual drilling machine was designed that can simultaneously drill holes through both sides of the conductor so that anti stripping / lifting pins can be installed. Secondly, a specialised conductor saw was developed that can quickly cut through a combination of concrete and steel. Finally, IKM Testing developed our own high-pressure water cleaning system that can quickly and efficiently remove marine growth from conductors as they are being lifted.
