Review: Cad Lights PLS-50 Elite II 2 Protein Skimmer... it's QUIET! Reef Tank Equipment (unedited)

An honest review of the Cadlights PLS 50 Elite II Protein skimmer. Unscripted and unedited, poor lighting/camerawork. I at least wanted to get something out there as these are still a pretty new skimmer still and there's very little information on them. I believe the footprint is 3.5x3.5, it's very quiet, dare I say silent. They are advertised as less than 5 Db, and it is working just fine for my 29g tank (15g sump, roughly 30g combined of actual water). Tank is heavily stocked with 7 fish (1 maroon clown 6 green chromis), plenty of inverts, 1 bubble tip anemone, and mixed LPS and softs with 1 giant SPS montipora. Probably not the "best" skimmer but anything bigger would be overkill in such a small set up, and would most likely be louder. I debated between this and Eshopps nano, went with this because Eshopps I felt would have been cheaper construction, and there was practically no info on this skimmer. I found out about this skimmer searching for options for a nuvo 10g, and found out about the cadlights elite I, the first generation of this skimmer, as one of the top options for nuvo 10g (roughly 3"x2.75" footprint), however, that skimmer isnt offered any more and very rare to find, with the Elite II being the newer "better" model. Unfortunately it is bigger and does not fit in the Nuvo 10g like its predecessor did, however there was no information about this out there so I had to buy it and find out myself. Also, in the vid I say I ran a curve 5 and nothing else, that was a mistake, the curve 5, which is way overkill for this size, was replaced by a Icecap skimmer, whose motor burnt out, then I switched to this one, the PLS50. I would recommend if you have a nano tank, especially if noise is an issue. I sleep with this tank about 3 feet from my head, have no issues at all with noise.
