#photojournalism #journalism #photography Whats good everyone. Today I woke up to the sights and the smells of forest fires burning all over California. It got me thinking of my time when I was doing some press photography. Working for a few companies photographing current events and the news. So I decided to make a video on what I think are key in a good healthy photojournalism career. Journalism has its good and sometimes tough moments and let me tell you. Sometimes it takes guts to go and capture all this world has going on. I know a few full time photographers in the news and its sometimes isn't what it could and should be. Specially in these times right now. With social media like facebook, Instagram, twitter, where media wants instant news right away, sometimes its tough getting a true professional photographer on the beat. I've read stories in the past where actual media outlets have fired the whole photographic department and handed out iphones to all reports. So they now report, write, and do all the photography for the agency or channel. Talk about a Jack or Jane of all trades. Because of this the quality of photography has gone down. This has a very big negative impact on our history when it comes to recording and documenting. In this video I will explain why. So as many of you know CA and much of the west coast is burning with many wild fires. Brush fires right now. I woke up smelling this and went out and thought let me share my input on journalistic photography and what I think. Leave me a comment and let me know what you guys and gals think of the state of photojournalism right now in 2020? Is it better or worst than before.
