Intermezzo from 'Cavalleria Rusticana', P Mascagni: multitrack. An alternative end to Godfather III!

https://www.rebeccasmithorchestra.com I was devastated not to be performing with the Scarborough Spa Orchestra this summer due to COVID-19 restrictions. In a desire to honour the season, I undertook a multitrack audio project of one of the Spa audience's favourite pieces. I recorded the audio in one room during lockdown in May, and filmed the video in August 2020. Fortunately the cello part fitted on viola, so I was able to record all six string parts (string quartet plus divisis) on violin and viola, and then both the harp and organ parts on an electric piano. Whilst romanticising over fond memories, and reflecting on what is still lost, this recording also looks forward to treasured times ahead. Dedicated to the Scarborough Spa Orchestra audience, whom I hope to see again next year.
