Twist Dances - Oakland Community Center, Dandridge TN | Circa 1962

8mm footage of dances held in what was once the Oakland Community Center in Dandridge TN. (The building now houses the Jefferson County Adult Learning Center adjacent to Jefferson County High School.) Footage was recorded by Bob Breeden, who was also involved in the planning of the dances. The dates of these dances was likely around late 1962 or early 1963, as the dancers seem to be primary doing The Twist as well as Limbo Contests which were both were enjoying mainstream popularity at that time.
