If your Viking 6000 series sewing machine (Husqvarna 2000) is noisy, you may want to check the take up lever for play. This can quite often be the cause of the noise in these models. With a simple test, you can see if there is a problem with the take-up crank slide. It can crack and sometimes the brass bush will fall out. Warning: Make sure to not plug the power cable into the machine while you have the back cover removed! Shock hazard exists!
