The miners only select the very best meerschaum blocks among the hundreds mined from under 100m below the surface. These then undergo further scrutiny by the master carvers to ensure that only the very best of the best blocks go into making the final product. This ensures that each pipe has the smoking characteristics that can only come from such a high-quality block meerschaum pipe.
