A short drive from the causeway you find Kisho, a Japanese restaurant in Johor Bahru that offers amazing omakase in a cosy environment. At the time of dining, SGD to MYR was 1: 3.2 and my wife and I both had the 350 ringgit Chef Omakase. https://www.kishojb.com/   / kishojohor   We visited on a Sunday night (27 Nov 22) and it was not crowded. 1 young Japanese family was watching Japan play against Costa Rica in the World Cup group stage in a private room and another Japanese lady was at the counter with us. It's pretty telling of their quality when you find Japanese clientele who are regulars. The chef told me their customers work out to be about 50% locals, 30% Japanese and 20% Singaporeans.
