Removing a Seized Impeller Shaft Bearing on a Snowblower

Step by Step! Today we'll be removing a seized impeller shaft bearing on a Craftsman snow blower. We'll be using the Induction Innovations Venom HP induction heating tool, and a Split Bearing Puller to remove the bearing from the shaft. The induction heat is just used to expand the metal bearing, and make it easier for the split puller to remove it from the shaft. (An oxy-acetylene torch would work as well). However, without using some form of heat, you may damaged parts of your split puller, as it will be harder to remove things. Once the bearing is hot, we assemble and use the split puller to remove it. Finally, once the bearing has been removed, we clean up the shaft with some emery paper (fine sand paper) and apply some Permatex Nickel Anti-seize to prevent this bearing from seizing to the shaft in the future.
