This was our trip from Manali to Ladakh by Nano Total time- 19 hrs . Fuel consumption - 2 tanks . 27-28 litres. Fuel cost from Manali to Ladakh - 2500 to 3000 rupees. No tolls Mileage- 17- 20 kmpl due to the ascend and continuous Heater use . It was a continuous drive without any stopping for the night, except for tea coffee, snacks, meals, and two refuelling stops. We left at around 5:50 a.m. and were having hot steaming Dal khichidi in Ladakh at around 12:00 a.m. , reaching Ladakh in around 19 hours. Reaching from Manali to Ladakh is not that easy , the elevation starts from around , 7000 ft in Manali and goes all the way up to 18-19k ft, before finally arriving in Ladakh which is at 11-12k ft above sea level . The air is dry and chilled , and high altitude passes, such as Baralacha and Tanglala which have less oxygen content . When we were travelling we could feel the dizziness and a bit of tingling sensation at these altitudes due to rapid ascend and descend. I personally have never been on such altitudes and after a point in driving I was feeling tired and sleepy and my head stared to ache to bad , so bad that if I would turn or shake my head the pain surged. Luckily we had brought with us bananas and jaggery , which gave us an instant sugar rush keeping us awake and alert on the Job. Me and my two friends were there to help in driving, navigating , spotting, filming and taking care of each other making the journey successful. Thanks to them ! The performance of the car on steep climbs such as Gata loops , was impeccable. Heavy oil tankers and 4 by 4's were slipping , but nano could climb effortlessly maybe thanks to the rear wheel drive. The total load that we were carrying in the car was around 250 - 300 kgs including all our clothes. The heater was powerful so powerful that at times we shut it down and opened our windows to feel the outside temperature , the outside temperature at night was around -2 degrees at high altitude passes , and on reaching Ladakh it was around 3 degrees Celsius. In all the car performed like magic , and there were no problems at all in any way from Manali to Ladakh , I remember seeing so many cases of tyre puncture on so many cars and bikes But we had none of that. maybe because of the new tyres installed a year back. Thank you for watching ! , Please do like and subscribe to our channel where we will attempt to drive across India and maybe even outside India by our Nano.
