FEAST of the Hunters' Moon

This is a little tease to a historical documentary I am doing on "The FEAST of the Hunters' Moon. The FEAST of the Hunters' Moon is recognized as one of the top festivals in the state of Indiana. It takes place each fall at Fort Ouiatenon on the Wabash River about 4 miles downstream from Lafayette. This rendezvous is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans at this fur-trading outpost in the mid 1700s. The program will hopefully capture the spectacle and excitement of this 18th century world and tells how this festival came to be. In this segment we hear from William Baugh, who was a junior high school history teacher at Rossville Indiana in 1967 when his students completed a history club project that was so amazing it led to the creation of this festival, the first 18th Century living history festival in the nation. Del Bartlett tells how he discovered the actual site of the original Fort Ouiatenon when he was a student at Purdue University.
