Race Across Scotland® 215 mile following Scotland's Great Trail, the Southern Upland Way. Single stage, continuous ultramarathon held by GB Ultras spanning coast to coast across the width of Scotland from Portpatrick to Co'Path (near Edinburgh). Video shows highlights of DAY 1, DAY 2, DAY 3 and DAY 4 as the spread of runners can be over 90 + miles between the fastest runner and the tail end of the race. GB Ultras treat everyone as equal. The Southern Upland Way (SUW) has been incredibly well marked by the SUW team (working alongside landowners, local authorities and volunteers) since its inception in 1984 and follows historic trails through deep forests and over the wild, rolling mountains of the Southern Uplands. The Southern Upland Way also bears the scars of battles between Scotland and England with legends, folklore and memorials across the trail. Checkpoint locations include Town Halls, Village Halls and Community Centres across Scotland with sleeping quarters (airbeds) from CP4 onwards and a range of hot food to aid participants from CP3 onwards.
