Day 5 in Bicol and we are going to Sorsogon! Dubbed as the Gateway to Southern Philippines, Sorsogon is at the southernmost tip of the Bicol Peninsula and of Luzon Island facing the island of Samar to the southeast across the San Bernardino Strait and Ticao Island to the southwest. First stop for today's road trip is the Sorsogon Sports Complex, boasting the grand structure of it's Coliseum, inspired by the Rome Colosseum. We enjoyed our early lunch in Rosario's, a small cafe & restaurant across the Coliseum. We then headed to Casiguran to check out the newest feature in Plaza Escudero, the 16,000 Blue Roses Park. It took as a little less than one hour to travel to Bulusan Lake. We enjoyed cruising through the zen and tranquil waters of the lake while learning a lot from our tour guide, Ate Virgie. Our unplanned side trip was next, the Kambal Busay Falls & Hidden Falls inside Zoe's Resort & Eco-Adventure Park, in Bulusan. Still in Bulusan, we were suprised by the beauty of Dancalan Beach Resort. We had the beach all to ourselves for the majority of time we spent there. A relaxing stop before we head back to Legazpi. We circled around the Bulusan mountain range and passed by Barcelona, Sorsogon on our way home. There, you will find one of the oldest church in the province, St. Joseph Parish Church and the La Presidencia Ruins accross it. We were captivated by the beauty of the province and we can't wait to be back for more. Until we meet again, Sorsogon!
