Christchurch Bus Station comings and goings

Two main operators serve Christchurch: Redbus - which has its origins in the municipal fleet - and Go Bus. The new Bus Station, the old underground did not survive the earthquake, uses the same hot standing system. A controller in the box seen in the left allocates bays to buses as they arrive and these are announced by a pre-recorded voice to waiting passengers. The new Bus Station probably has enough stands to accommodate services individually, but to help passegers the stands are grouped into four zones so they know which part of the facility to wait in. Buses are primarily a mix of MAN and Scania with Go Bus using some Volvo B7RLE. Bodywork is largely Designline though some MCV bodied MAN are evident, again with Go Bus
