His PhD in History of Science with a thesis on the topic Imaginary Alien in Portuguese Culture - End of Modernity by mid -nineteenth century presented to the Faculty of Arts, University of Porto, the first of its theme in a Portuguese Academy and European . Is particularly interested in the religious comparative anthropology , especially the phenomena of popular religiosity and spirituality . Has been studying lesser known aspects of the history of ideas and sciences , the development of scientific models , in particular with regard to the different cosmologies and world views , and the debate between science and religion . Worked in the area of Culture , the Journal News , where he created lines of scientific and cultural dissemination , and author of dozens of popular articles . Participate regularly in TV and radio programs on " frontiers of science", and wrote several works of historical and religious research , some of them with translations into English , French and Spanish. He is a member of various international organizations and international coordinator of " Project MARIAN who studies the cultural and scientific dimensions of religious and apparitional phenomena such as Fatima . Since 1997 it has promoted the realization of several subordinate to the generic title of " Frontiers of Science " at the University Fernando Pessoa international congresses .
