#20: "Holy ZamZam water" is one of the best SCAMS by Muslims yet! Surprised?

Special thanks to Mel, from "Islamic Origins" for the help he gave me in researching many of the items for this episode. You can see his channel at:    / originsofislam   Note: David Chappele's interview is owned by Netflix Muslims in the ‘Pfanderfilms’ comment section were very clear that the ZamZam well refuted any notion that Mecca had no water. As they all claimed, “it’s from at least the time of Abraham”. Others said that it’s from the time of Adam & Eve According to the current narrative: Hagar (not Sarah, his wife) after searching for water, found it, and said “Stop – Stop”, thus the name it is given. The water, according Muslim’s like David Chappelle, a celebrated comic and a convert to Islam, say that the water from the well is “inexhaustible”. Many Muslims say that it is, furthermore, the world’s cleanest and purest water. What's more, they believe that it can accommodate every pilgrim who comes to Mecca (all 2 million of them), as well as those who already live there (another 2 million), and that the water from the well which is bottled every day can be shipped all over the Muslim world to be drunk by millions more around the world. How can this be? Because its water will never run out, and will remain eternally running because Allah himself will supply it for eternity! According to many "who know", it sprang up 5,000 years ago when Hagar went looking for water for Ishmael. She ran between the Safa and Marwah mountains 7 times before finding water at what is today the ZamZam well. Muslims believe that the water from the well has no impurities, and is replete with minerals so that it has a “heavy taste”. Pilgrims buy it, and it is shipped throughout the Muslim world for its healing properties. Go into any Muslim shop and you will find bottles of it on the shelves. It cost $187 million to modernize the well to accommodate the pilgrims. It is so popular that 350 m. liters of water is pumped from the ZamZam during the month of Ramadan (that's 11 million liters of water a day), while during the much shorter time of the Hajj 314 million liters of water is pumped from the well each day (that comes to 52 million liters per day)! So, where does all this enormous amount of water come from? According to Nada Hameed, a Jeddah based Muslim Journalist who wrote an article on the ZamZam well in the "Spotlight Arab News" (1/8/20), the source is rainfall falling into the “Wadi Ibrahim”, which then flows to underground aquifers, which then feeds the ZamZam well. The problem is that the Wadi Ibrahim is almost always dry, and when the infrequent rains do come, they don't soak into the hard ground but flow swiftly down the Wadi and into the Red Sea. So, that can't be the source. To know where all this water comes from, you need to do a simply historical survey. In the 1950s the well wasn’t very deep, and had very little water, as its entrance was just 30 ft. across, and it only went down about 50 feet, in other words, a very shallow well. So, in 1963 the Saudi Government dug a larger hole and moved the well underground, and then covered it up so that no one can get near it. They then installed a pump at the top of the well, with pipes coming into, and out of the well…but where did the pipes come from and go to? It seems these pipes run all the way from Jeddah, on the Red Sea, bringing the water to the well, from where it is then pumped back out to the various locations in the ‘Masjid al Haram’, and on to the bottling plants outside Mecca, where it is then stored in the world's largest storage units, where it is sanitized, filtered with sweetener added to the mix. But, from where does the water in Jeddah originate, if not from the ZamZam well itself? Is it a miracle, from Allah himself? That is what the Muslim world and David Chappelle would like you to believe. The answer, however is much more down-to-earth. On the coasts of the Red Sea, particularly around Jeddah, you will find enormous Desalinization plants littering the cost line, in fact 27 of them. It is from these huge plants that the water to feed the large Saudi Arabian cities, as well as the pilgrims and the thirsty Muslims around the Muslim world. But who created the technology and built these desalinization plants, and the enormous holding storage units? Allah, or Saudi engineers? No, they were designed and built by engineers from the Bechtel Corporation (headquartered in Virginia, USA), and the ‘Acciona’ Corporation (headquartered in Canada and Spain), and the ’Black & Veatch’ Corporation (headquartered in Kansas City, USA). It turns out that Allah hasn't provided any of the "Limitless" water for the pilgrims who come to Mecca. Therefore, it isn't Allah they should be giving credit to, or thanking, but to the Western Corporations who created and built the technology to give them the "holy" water they so desire and crave. © Pfander Centre for Apologetics - US, March 10, 2023 (70,650)
