Te beauty of RUST at the cemetery - Oxidation of the tombs - Urbex decay - Decay Beauty Art ABANDONED OLD GRAVES IN MOST VISITED CEMETERY OF PARIS #rust I reproduce a lot of degradation and rust on my paintings, that's why I'm making you this visit which is also a park of unique beauty and a great source of inspiration for me and my Art. How does rust form? Oxygen and water cause a chemical reaction of certain iron components and together will promote the development on the surface of a layer of iron oxide (brown red): rust or ferric oxide. Rust is the reddish-brown substance formed when iron-containing compounds corrode in the presence of oxygen and water. It is a slow oxidation reaction which results in the formation of more or less hydrated and poorly crystallized oxides or hydroxides, the most stable of which is hematite. Rust is therefore a complex mixture of iron oxides and hydroxides. Metallic iron obtained by processing (reduction) of red ore containing iron oxides, in blast furnaces, tends to return to an oxidized state when exposed to air and water. THE PÈRE-LACHAISE CEMETERY IN PARIS - Visit #RUST #PèreLachaise #paris #abandoned One of the hills of Paris, called Champ-l'Évêque because it belonged to the Bishop of Paris in the Middle Ages, took the name of Mont-aux-Vignes in the 12th century, for the crops that were grown there then. In 1430, a wealthy merchant by the name of Régnault de Wandonne bought the estate in order to build an opulent house there: madness. This is the origin of the name of the current rue de la Folie-Regnault in the 11th arrondissement. Two centuries later, the Jesuits acquired the land to make it a place of rest and convalescence. The house welcomes a few hours the young king Louis XIV who came to watch on these heights the fights during the Fronde. This event will give the place the name of Mont-Louis. But the most illustrious occupant was François d'Aix de La Chaise (1624-1709), known as Father La Chaise, confessor to the King of France Louis XIV, who exerted a moderating influence on him in the fight against Jansenism. He lived there from 1675 until his death in 1709. He had a small castle built there6. Mont-Louis was separated from the village of Ménilmontant by the chemin des Partants (current rue des Partants and rue Villiers-de-L'Isle-Adam)7. The Count of La Chaise, brother of the Jesuit father, gave many parties on the estate, which contributed to its expansion and embellishment. But in 1762, the Society of Jesus was forced to cede the land due to a debt from Jacy's father. Over the years, the gardens were abandoned and the owners succeeded, to return, on 9 Ventôse year XI to the prefect of the Seine, Nicolas Frochot, against the sum of 180,000 francs.
