Firefighters Evacuated From Large 2-Story House Fire

Fire crews responded to a mid-day structure fire. On arrival they found a large home (approx. 4000sqft) with heavy fire showing from the attic space of the second floor. After making a quick search, first-arriving companies moved to the second floor to try to extinguish the flames there and in the attic. Secondary units went to the first floor to contain fires there and protect the interior stair as a means of egress. After little progress was made, units were called out of the building, and the fire was darkened down with an aerial master stream. Firefighters were sent back up to contain the fire but were pulled from the home when the attic flashed over. The fire was extinguished using defensive tactics.
