Turns out there are exhaust fans that perform worse than my incredibly inneficient centrifugal-axial exhaust fan experiment thing.. What I have for you here is a CKE ceiling exhaust fan, model EFT-006-ST. This is something that you’d find in small bathrooms, home kitchens, and offices in Mainland China, Hong Kong, & several other countries. It can be mounted on the ceiling, the wall, or the window, and it’s a cheap & esthetically unintrusive way to move air around. Indonesian home bathrooms tend to be larger than the ones in China & Hong Kong. People commonly use bathroom exhaust fans larger than 8” in diameter because that’s what have always been available. Recently some companies brought in small exhaust fans like this one to try to compete with more established companies, which is a waste of effort in my opinion. Established fan companies usually have their own local factories, which means they can put low pricetags on their things. On the other hand, nearly all small exhaust fans like what I have are imports. What that means is when you purchase a fan like this, you’re indirectly paying import fees & taxes which is why the price on these fans are up there with bigger fans made by local companies, and here’s the big thing. Because the pricetag on a fan like this includes the import fees & taxes, the actual value of this fan is much lower than the fans from local companies, and if you still insist on buying a fan like this, it means that… The money you spent on this fan could have actually bought you a better fan. Don’t believe me? Try & compare prices online for this type of fan, and fans that are made by Maspion or Sekai. I guarantee that you’ll find Maspion or Sekai’s 8” centrifugal ceiling exhaust fans have the same, or a wee bit higher price tag than this thing. And worse is that because this fan is an import, spare parts aren’t guaranteed to be always available. With all that said, how’s the performance of the fan itself you might ask? Well, as I said early on in this description box, it’s not a good performer. For small single person public toilets it is good enough, but if you really want to get air moving, you really should get a bigger fan. The only good thing I can say about this fan is that it uses ball bearings, which can give it more hours to live. As a conclusion, I really recommend you to stick with the local guys, and only get imported fans if your needs can’t be fulfilled by them. I only bought this fan to find out how good it really is. #ExhaustFan
