Presented here is the entire 25-minute show. A single camera was moved to a different location for each of the day's five performances, then edited together to create a virtual five-camera shoot using parts of all five shows. Our thanks to the exceptional performers, crew, and Universal Studios Hollywood. ~ Dave Edison "Beetlejuice’s Rockin’ Graveyard Revue" Dates: Summer 1992 (outdoor stage) – September 1999 (Castle Theater) Based on Tim Burton's 1988 film Beetlejuice, featuring the character Betelgeuse played by Michael Keaton. The reason for the different spelling of the film's title remains unclear. The show debuted on a small outdoor stage near the current site of Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem before moving to the Castle Theater around 1995. From the Universal Studios website, 1996: Rock ‘n’ roll will never die… not if a certain macabre musical quintet has anything to say about it. They’ve practiced their licks, perfected their chops, and now the top ghouls in the business — Dracula, The Phantom of the Opera, The Wolfman, The Bride of Frankenstein and Frankenstien himself — are ready to inject some fresh blood into classic rock ‘n’ roll favorites. Brought together by that morbid maestro, Monsieur Beetlejuice, this fulsome fivesome rips through a killer of a show in Beetlejuice’s 1,800-seat graveyard theater. For 25 electrifying minutes, they serve up a high-voltage dance concert that combines heart-pounding music with hot MTV-style dance steps, brilliant high-tech lighting, jaw-dropping special effects and spectacular illusions. It’s such a devilishly popular show, Beetlejuice offers it to the public eight times a day. Don’t miss it — you wouldn’t want to make him mad." ~ TheStudioTour.com "Beetlejuice's Graveyard Mash-Up (formerly known as Beetlejuice's Rock and Roll Graveyard Revue) or Beetlejuice's Rockin' Graveyard Revue or Universal Monsters Live Rock and Roll Show is a live stage show based on the film of the same name and Universal's Classic Monsters. It is located at Universal Studios Japan, and formerly at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida. The venue at the Hollywood park was removed in 1999, and replaced by Spider-Man Rocks. The attraction debuted at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood in 1992. At the Florida park, it took the place of An American Tail Theatre, which had opened in 1991. Meanwhile, in Hollywood, it replaced The Adventures of Conan: A Sword and Sorcery Spectacular, a show that had been running in the Castle Theater since 1983. Initially, the attraction was situated in a small outdoor theater (now occupied by Super Silly Fun Land) before being relocated indoors in 1995.
